Biography
Lung-I Cheng, PhD, is a healthcare executive specializing in global market access, pricing, and commercialization strategies for oncology and rare diseases. With a career spanning pharma, distribution, and payer organizations, he has consistently worked toward a common goal: improving patient access to transformative therapies.
Most recently, Lung-I advised a stealth startup focused on innovative contracting models for cell and gene therapies, designing provider networks and formulary frameworks to expand affordability and sustainability to these scientific breakthroughs. Prior to that, he was Vice President and Head of Cell & Gene Therapy at Cencora, where he partnered with multiple biopharma companies to successfully launch their cell and gene therapies through integrated market strategy and tactics.
Earlier in his career at Takeda Oncology, Lung-I led the global value and access strategy for ADCETRIS—the first antibody-drug conjugate—driving it to blockbuster status through innovative pricing and access frameworks. His work secured groundbreaking health technology assessment (HTA) approvals in major markets and helped pioneer the use of real-world evidence in payer decision-making. At Amgen, he advanced value evidence for multiple first-in-class therapies, shaping reimbursement landscapes worldwide.
