Biography
Melissa Juniper is an HEOR leader with more than 20 years of strategic consulting experience with top-tier pharmaceutical and biotech clients. Her career has included a variety of projects that guide pharmaceutical decision-making, including product value dossiers, value message development, IRA responses, and literature reviews.
Melissa is skilled at translating complex scientific data into impactful value propositions for diverse stakeholders. In particular, she has worked extensively with clients to streamline product value dossiers that have become unwieldy over time due to an abundance of data.
Melissa is committed to building and maintaining strong client relationships based on transparent communication and consistent delivery of high-quality work. She is adept at balancing the needs of internal and external stakeholders, incorporating competing priorities to propose solutions that work for everyone. Melissa is a problem-solver by nature, and enjoys developing and implementing innovative process improvements to enhance value and realize efficiencies.
Over her lengthy HEOR career, Melissa has accumulated broad therapeutic area experience. She has worked most extensively in oncology and cardiovascular disease. She also brings substantial knowledge in hematology, diabetes, neurological disorders, psychiatric disorders, musculoskeletal and connective tissue disorders, respiratory disorders, and infectious diseases.
Key accomplishments
- Facilitated an expert panel discussion focusing on adhering to multiple guidelines for preparation of formulary submission dossiers at the ISPOR 14th Annual International Meeting.
- Received a Highly Cited Author award from RTI Health Solutions, recognizing co-authorship of an article that reached 50+ citations (Juniper et al. Expert Opin Pharmacother. 2009).
- Collaborated with a client to prepare an Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) response in support of a product on the initial group of 10 Medicare Part D drugs selected for negotiation.
- Refined existing literature review processes to improve quality and realize efficiencies, including developing process maps and updating proposal and project templates.
- Prepared a suite of training documents outlining best practices to assist with onboarding of new staff.
